A vacuum bottle, also known as a vacuum insulated bottle, is a cup made of stainless steel with a vacuum layer added to it. It has a lid on the top and is tightly sealed. There are significant differences between vacuum bottles and regular thermos bottles in terms of material, price, insulation performance, tactile sensation, and working principle. We can identify the quality of insulated bottles by checking their insulation performance, testing their sealing, and identifying the quality of plastic parts.

There are various material choices for ordinary thermos bottles, including ceramic, stainless steel, plastic, and glass. However, vacuum thermos bottles only use stainless steel as the raw material, and then add a vacuum interlayer to form the cup body and product. The vacuum insulation layer can slow down the heat dissipation of the water lamp liquid inside, achieving the purpose of insulation.
The ordinary insulation evaluation sold in the general market only plays a role in insulation, and after injecting hot water, the insulation time is about two to three hours. This type of ordinary thermos bottle has a significant price difference from vacuum thermos bottles. When purchasing, you should carefully identify the manufacturer of the thermos bottle and not buy it casually on the street. The safety and insulation performance of this cheaper thermos bottle cannot be guaranteed.
Vacuum insulated bottles have the characteristics of cold and hot insulation, and vacuum insulated bottles with high vacuum rates can achieve a insulation effect of up to 10 hours. However, ordinary thermos bottles have lower insulation performance and stronger heat dissipation than vacuum bottles, so their insulation performance is usually only two to three hours.

Inject boiling water into the cup within a minute, and then create a difference by touching the outside of the cup. The one that heats up is not a vacuum insulated bottle, but just an ordinary simple insulated bottle. So the one that doesn’t get hot is a vacuum insulated bottle. Vacuum insulated bottles can generally keep warm for more than 6 hours, and products with high vacuum rates can reach about 10 hours.
The principle of a thermos bottle is the same as that of previous thermos cups. The silver inner liner inside can reflect the radiation of hot water, and the vacuum of the cup liner and body can block the transfer of heat, but the bottle that is not easy to transfer heat can prevent heat convection.
A vacuum insulated bottle is generally made of stainless steel with a vacuum interlayer as a thermal insulation container, made of inner and outer double-layer stainless steel. The inner and outer shells are combined together by welding technology, and the air in the interlayer of the inner and outer shells is extracted by vacuum technology to achieve the effect of vacuum insulation.
After filling with boiling water, tighten the bottle stopper or thermos cap clockwise. After about 2-3 minutes, touch the outer surface and lower part of the cup with your hand. If you feel a warm sensation, it means that the insulation performance of the thermos is not good enough. A truly effective thermos should have a cold outer wall after a long time.
After adding water to the thermos, fill it with water, tighten the lid, invert it for a few minutes, or shake it vigorously. If there is no leakage, it proves that the sealing performance is good.

The characteristics of food grade new plastics are low odor, bright surface, no burrs, long service life, and resistance to aging. The characteristics of ordinary plastic or recycled plastic are strong odor, dark color, many burrs, and easy aging and breakage of plastic.
The depth of the inner liner is basically the same as the height of the outer shell, with a difference of less than 16-18mm, and the capacity is consistent with the nominal value. Some low-quality insulated cups add sand or cement blocks to make up for the missing weight. Note that heavier insulated cups are not necessarily better.
There are many specifications for stainless steel materials, among which 18/8 indicates that the composition of this stainless steel material contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Materials that meet this standard are green and environmentally friendly products that comply with national food grade standards. The product is rust proof and corrosion-resistant. The color of ordinary stainless steel cups appears white and dark. If soaked in 1% saline solution for 24 hours, rust spots will appear, and some of the elements contained in them exceed the standard, directly endangering human health.
